How to Lose Fat and Get Washboard Abs
You’re on a quest, you’ve been reading your latest copy of Men’s Health and you want to get washboard abs like that model on the cover. Heck I can’t blame you, I was sitting in that same place about a year ago. The difference though between you and me is that I tried all the wrong ways to getting washboard abs before I actually got it right.
You on the other hand won’t make these mistakes because I’m going to give you the tips needed to get washboard abs fast, and let you in on a little secret hand book I used to accelerate my results.
It had to start in the Kitchen
You’re probably expecting me to give you a washboard abs workout that lists several abdominal exercises you need to do for 6 weeks and viola you’ve got a ripped 6 pack.
Unfortunately that isn’t true, I tried that and trust me it didn’t work.
I had to start in the kitchen, or more specifically with my diet. Did you know that unless you have a body fat percentage below 5% you won’t be able to see your 6 pack of washboard abs even if you did have it? I didn’t, and until I read a book on the process of getting a six pack I would probably still be doing crunches all night long.
Instead I stopped focusing on just abdominal exercises and started looking at the lifestyle changes I needed to make to drop my body fat percentage. This included cutting out processed and high fat foods, changing my eating habits from 3 meals a day to 5 smaller meals, and eating more frequently.

Diet change was the first step I had to take to getting washboard abs fast, and the small changes I made to what I ate, and how often I ate started showing results in less then 2 weeks.
Exercise Not Just to Build a 6 Pack
The second step was to compound the effects of my diet changes and start doing fat burning exercises each day that would help me drop my body fat percentage even faster.
The exercises I started doing weren’t just ab specific, although I did do several ab exercises with each workout. What I focused on were full body movement exercises, also known as multi joint exercises.
What the heck does that mean?
Think about doing a bicep curl, you’re more or less only using your bicep right? Now think about doing a lunge or a squat. You’re using all of your legs, as well as your core and back to keep you balanced and straight. By focusing your time on these types of exercises (those that include most of your body) you’ll burn more calories faster.
So you’re not only toning up your abs and building lean muscle mass, you’re also cutting your body fat percentage which is moving you closer to getting washboard abs.

Now it Was time for The Abdominals
Of course there comes a time when to get washboard abs you must actually focus on ab workouts. How ever I wasn’t doing crunches and sit ups all day long. I focused on some tougher ab exercises.
Again I refer to the ebook The Truth about Six Pack Abs as this is where I learned about the majority of these exercises.
Hanging Leg Raises: This is an exercise you’ll either have to have a bar at home for or do at the gym. It’s a great workout for the lower abdominals, and for the first few times you do it you’ll know it’s working because it’s gonna burn like crazy.
Bench Crunches: I found these a bit easier to do on my back then the old fashion style laying down crunch or situp.
Stability Ball Crunches: You might think those people at the gym look silly doing crunches on a stability ball bu trust me nothing concentrates the workout better on your abdominals then using a stability ball.
