			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Getting a killer set of abs takes work, focusing on your abdominals for a 6 pack abs workout 2-3 times each week is the first step. In this article I&#8217;ve included <strong>5 specific exercises</strong> you can add to your six pack workout each week that will have you toned in no time.</p>
<p><strong>SIDE NOTE:</strong> Getting 6 pack abs isn&#8217;t just about the workout, you need to have a lean body fat percentage as well. For a complete overview of what it takes to get ripped abs get our FREE report available at the side of this page.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Handling Knee Raises</span>: A great exercise that is easy to do and will make anyone break a sweat. Hang straight armed from a chin up bar. While keeping your legs straight pull your knees up to your mid section, hold for a moment then control down.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t yank your legs up so you swing on the bar, and don&#8217;t drop your legs down either. Control is important here to focus the workout.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Leg Thrusts:</span> A great exercise to add to any six pack abs workout. Lay down on your back with your shoulders and neck slightly elevated off the ground. With your legs raised above your waist lower them down about half way to a 45 degree angle. From there pull them back up to a straight position and thrust your hips off the floor. This is a two step exercise that gives you twice the workout.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Reverse Crunches</span>: A mix up on the old reliable that is probably part of everyones 6 pack workout. Assume a normal crunch position on a mat. Now rather then pulling your head and neck towards your knees place your arms and palms at your sides. Have your knees bent, slowly pull your body off the ground by curling. Avoid using momentum to do this, you should use your abs and core strength to accomplish this movement.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Abdominal Bicycle:</span> Start by lying on your back with your hips and and knees at approximately 90 degree angles.  Your neck and shoulders should be slightly off the ground and your hands behind your head with elbows out.</p>
<p>Pull your left elbow across to wards your right knee, while pull the right knee in towards your body. This is a criss cross motion that works all of your abdominals at once.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Abdominal Scissors: </span>This is a real burner to add to your six pack workouts. Start on your back with your arms extended out above your head raised about 45 degrees of the ground. Your legs should also be extended and raised about 45 degrees of the ground.</p>
<p>Bring your arms from behind your head forward while at the same time pulling your legs back and lift your hips off the ground. Your legs and arms should cross over each other.</p>
<p>These are just five a many challenging and great abdominal exercises you can add to your 6 pack abs workout. I got these five exercises from a book I&#8217;ve used for training and eating to perfect my abdominals.<br />

<p>When piecing together a diet to get ripped abs it&#8217;s important to eat smaller meals more frequently. Try to switch from the standard 3 meals a day to eating every 3-4 hours your awake. This will probably equate to 4-6 smaller meals through out the day.</p>
<p>This will help your metabolism as well as stop you from snacking.</p>
<p><strong>2.) Plan your meals</strong></p>
<p>Once a week take the time to plan out each of your meals for the next week. Make a grocery list based on those meals and purchase only the items needed for those meals. This ensures you&#8217;re not buying highly processed foods, or snack items.</p>
<p>The second benefit to planning your meals is to make your ripped abs diet easy to execute. Knowing what you&#8217;re eating each day takes the guess work out and reduces the chance of running out for fast food.</p>
<p><strong>3.) Know your caloric intake requirements and what you&#8217;re eating, don&#8217;t obsesses but be aware</strong></p>
<p>I don&#8217;t want you to think that this is a weight loss plan, but you need to know what your caloric intake requirement is for each day. There are calculators online, and if you decide to invest in the book I recommend at the end of this article the author explains how as well.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t obsess over the number of calories you eat each day but be aware, and don&#8217;t purposely go over board. This will ensure you keep a lean body fat percentage so you&#8217;ll be able to see your ripped abs.<br />
<strong><br />
4.) Mix Protein, Fiber/Carbs, healthy oils</strong></p>
<p>For each meal in your diet for ripped abs be sure to include a mix of protein (i.e. Meat, poultry, lean dairy), fiber and carbohydrates such as whole grains, and healthy oils. This is the essential mix your body needs for nutrients to perform at it&#8217;s peek level.<br />
<strong><br />
5.) One over eating day each week</strong></p>
<p>This might not seem like it belongs in a ripped abs diet but take one day a week and make it an over eating day. This throws off your metabolism and ensures your body doesn&#8217;t get accustomed to how your eating. This is essential to keep your metabolism moving at peak pace.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">NOTE:</span> Don&#8217;t go over board here, our goal is to get a great 6 pack so don&#8217;t run out to McDonald&#8217;s. Eat well, but eat more.</p>
<p><strong>6.) Focus on eating Low glycemic index foods through out the day</strong></p>
<p>This is important so that you&#8217;re keeping the mix of foods your eating right. Don&#8217;t avoid eating healthy high glycemic foods such as some fruits, but mix them in at each meal with low glycemic foods to keep the glycemic response in your body low.</p>
<p><strong>7.) After workouts eat High glycemic index foods and protein for optimal recovery</strong></p>
<p>Mixing high glycemic foods and protein after a workout gives your body the fuel it needs to recover.  We use glycogen when we work out and that needs to be replenished. Ensuring you feed your body and muscles the necessary nutrients you&#8217;ll be ready for the next work out.</p>
<p><strong>BONUS</strong></p>
<p>Avoid bad oils and trans fats. These aren&#8217;t helping you keep a lean body fat percentage or your heart.</p>

There is of course more to it, such as selecting the right foods to eat, sample meal plans etc. How ever this is enough to get you started. I&#8217;m not a fan of supplements to burn fat becuase it&#8217;s not teaching you how to keep the weight off, so there&#8217;s a big chance you&#8217;ll put it back one.</p>
<p>Likewise I hate the thought of lipo or other surgical procedures to get a flat stomach fast becuase again, it&#8217;s the easy way out, you haven&#8217;t learned new techniques to lose weight and get a flat stomach on your own.</p>
<p>So, in this article I&#8217;m going to share with you the 3 steps I used to get a flat stomach. These steps aren&#8217;t rocket science, but they do require work on your part, but if you follow each one of these steps and make the changes to your lifestyle I can almost guarantee you that you&#8217;ll get a flat stomach and keep it for life!</p>
<p><strong>1.) Food not money is the root of all evil.</strong></p>
<p>Ok maybe that&#8217;s a little harsh, but if you want to know how to get a flat stomach you have to start with your diet, not exercise, not sit ups and crunches but what you&#8217;re eating each meal, each day.</p>
<p>What you need to do is get your caloric intake in line with your required calories each day. Most of us consume far more calories then we can burn off in a day which is why most of us are walking around 10-20 lbs over weight.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">So how do you do this? </span></p>
<p>First calculate your daily required calories. There are several tools online you can use to do this, or grab a copy of The Truth About Abs the book I call the Belly fat bible. It explains how to calculate your required intake as well as how to cut out the unwanted calories.</p>
<p>Once you know how many calories you should be eating in a day you need to start tracking exactly how many you are eating. The first step to get a flat stomach is to ensure you don&#8217;t add any un wanted calories to your body which will add to the problem of belly fat.</p>
<p><strong>What&#8217;s next?</strong></p>
<p>So now that you have figured out how many calories you are eating you need to cut back. Most of us can cut out processed foods, high fat and sugar snacks etc. to reduce our calorie intake. Replace these with fruits and vegetables and you won&#8217;t feel hungry and you&#8217;ll be eating fewer calories.</p>
<p><strong>Meals</strong></p>
<p>Instead of eating the regular three meals a day, split up your meals into smaller portions and eat them 4-6 times a day. Try to eat every 3-4 hours your awake. This will speed up your metabolism and reduce the chances of snacking.</p>

<p><strong>2.) Exercise</strong></p>
<p>Ok now we&#8217;ll talk about exercise. To get a flat stomach of course it&#8217;s going to take more then just diet changes. How ever without the diet changes the exercise component can&#8217;t do it&#8217;s job. In order to show off a  nice set of abs and a flat tummy you&#8217;re body fat percentage must be low enough. The only way to reduce your body fat percentage is to&#8230;&#8230;That&#8217;s right cut calories and burn more fat.</p>
<p>So while cardio is a great activity for the heart it doesn&#8217;t burn a ton of fat. So if you&#8217;re a runner or a walker I urge you to keep it up because it&#8217;s great for your health. How ever you should add into your weekly exercise routine a few more things.</p>
<p>Exercises that involve the whole body such as lunges and squats, or multi joint upper body exercises are best to burn calories.</p>

<p><strong>3.) Let&#8217;s tone those abs</strong></p>
<p>It&#8217;s unavoidable, to get a flat stomach you have to work on your abs. You might not want to get a ripped 6 pack, but to have a flat stomach you&#8217;re going to need some definition to your abdominals.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t worry though you can work your ab exercises into your regular workouts you use for fat burning.</p>
<p>While regular sit ups and crunches are great, there are some more advanced ab exercises you should consider to accelerate your results.</p>
<p>Hanging leg and knee raises: These are as simple as hanging from a chin up bar and raising your knees up to your mid section, or for a more intense work out try raising your legs straight out until paralell with your waist.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Bench Crunches:</span> These are a great way to focus the workout on your abs. Sit at the edge of a bench, hold under neath but bottom and extend your legs out and crunch back in. It forces the effort to be done by your abs.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Stability ball Crunches:</span> I&#8217;m not a fan of the bright colored stability balls you see at most gyms but they do help you focus your movements on your abs and ensure that you don&#8217;t strain your back or neck while doing the movement.</p>
<p>This is just a sample of ab exercises you can use to get a flat stomach. I&#8217;d urge you to pick up a copy of The Truth about abs. Heck I can&#8217;t blame you, I was sitting in that same place about a year ago. The difference though between you and me is that I tried all the wrong ways to getting washboard abs before I actually got it right.</p>
<p>You on the other hand won&#8217;t make these mistakes because I&#8217;m going to give you the tips needed to get washboard abs fast, and let you in on a little secret hand book I used to accelerate my results.</p>
<p><strong>It had to start in the Kitchen</strong></p>
<p>You&#8217;re probably expecting me to give you a washboard abs workout that lists several abdominal exercises you need to do for 6 weeks and viola you&#8217;ve got a ripped 6 pack.</p>
<p>Unfortunately that isn&#8217;t true, I tried that and trust me it didn&#8217;t work.</p>
<p>I had to start in the kitchen, or more specifically with my diet. Did you know that unless you have a body fat percentage below 5% you won&#8217;t be able to see your 6 pack of washboard abs even if you did have it? I didn&#8217;t, and until I read a book on the process of getting a six pack I would probably still be doing crunches all night long.</p>
<p>Instead I stopped focusing on just abdominal exercises and started looking at the lifestyle changes I needed to make to drop my body fat percentage. This included cutting out processed and high fat foods, changing my eating habits from 3 meals a day to 5 smaller meals, and eating more frequently.</p>

<p>Diet change was the first step I had to take to getting washboard abs fast, and the small changes I made to what I ate, and how often I ate started showing results in less then 2 weeks.</p>
<p><strong>Exercise Not Just to Build a 6 Pack</strong></p>
<p>The second step was to compound the effects of my diet changes and start doing fat burning exercises each day that would help me drop my body fat percentage even faster.</p>
<p>The exercises I started doing weren&#8217;t just ab specific, although I did do several ab exercises with each workout. What I focused on were full body movement exercises, also known as multi joint exercises.</p>
<p><strong>What the heck does that mean? </strong></p>
<p>Think about doing a bicep curl, you&#8217;re more or less only using your bicep right? Now think about doing a lunge or a squat. You&#8217;re using all of your legs, as well as your core and back to keep you balanced and straight. By focusing your time on these types of exercises (those that include most of your body) you&#8217;ll burn more calories faster.<br />
So you&#8217;re not only toning up your abs and building lean muscle mass, you&#8217;re also cutting your body fat percentage which is moving you closer to getting washboard abs.</p>

<p><strong>Now it Was time for The Abdominals</strong></p>
<p>Of course there comes a time when to get washboard abs you must actually focus on ab workouts. How ever I wasn&#8217;t doing crunches and sit ups all day long. I focused on some tougher ab exercises.</p>
<p>Again I refer to the ebook The Truth about Six Pack Abs as this is where I learned about the majority of these exercises.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Hanging Leg Raises</span>: This is an exercise you&#8217;ll either have to have a bar at home for or do at the gym. It&#8217;s a great workout for the lower abdominals, and for the first few times you do it you&#8217;ll know it&#8217;s working because it&#8217;s gonna burn like crazy.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Bench Crunches:</span> I found these a bit easier to do on my back then the old fashion style laying down crunch or situp.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Stability Ball Crunches:</span> You might think those people at the gym look silly doing crunches on a stability ball bu trust me nothing concentrates the workout better on your abdominals then using a stability ball.</p>

<p>The truth is there&#8217;s a lot more work to getting a six pack of abs then just using some ab exercise equipment, and that&#8217;s what we&#8217;ll look at in this article.</p>
<p><strong>The Real Truth Behind Getting 6 Pack abs</strong></p>
<p>Developing a 6 pack is a series of steps (you can read more about this in our free report, request it at the side of this page), not just doing sit-ups and crunches.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s face it if you have some excess belly fat you can buy any ab exercise equipment you want. Without getting rid of those excess pounds you won&#8217;t be seeing any six pack anytime soon.</p>
<p>You have to first start with dropping those excess pounds, then start defining your abdominals.</p>
<p><strong>Why Ab Exercise Equipment Won&#8217;t Burn Belly Fat</strong></p>
<p>Abs exercise equipment only focuses on your abdominals. It doesn&#8217;t give you the full body workout that most of us need to reduce our body fat percentage. When first starting out on the journey to 6 pack abs you need to focus on multi joint and full body exercises. It&#8217;s these types of workouts that will get you lean.</p>
<p>Next you introduce ab specific workouts that will tone and define those abdominals to the six pack you want. You see when it comes to getting a 6 pack you cannot put the horse before the cart.</p>
<p><strong>What Ab Exercise Equipment Can Do</strong></p>
<p>I can&#8217;t deny that ab exercise equipment has a place (except for those gadget ab belts they&#8217;re worthless). Most of the equipment does force you to focus directly  on your abdominals and if your percentage body fat is lean enough you can use these machines to develop a ripped set of abs.</p>
<p>How ever the majority of us aren&#8217;t lean enough to be able to see those abdominals even if the ab machines can help us develop them. Hence why it all starts with shedding our belly fat first, changing our lifestyle and then focusing on building those abs.</p>
<p><strong>Getting Started</strong></p>
